How Can Psychedelics Inspire Climate Action? Connect with the Pioneers at this Intersection.
It’s 2024, and our climate crisis calls for innovative solutions now more than ever. Our psychedelic-climate leaders are at the forefront of this new, rising trend.
Bloomberg writes, “Proponents of a new wave of interest in hallucinogens say the right trip at the right time can change how people think about the natural world.” The article features the story of Amanda Joy Ravenhill, former Executive Director of Buckminster Fuller Institute, and how a psychedelic journey inspired her to write books and co-found Project Drawdown.
Ravenhill says, “It’s enabled me to have more capacity, conceptually and emotionally, to be able to hold climate change. Because I’m able to hold it, to understand it, I’m able to do more about it.” She says the next few decades will be “very turbulent” due to climate change, “but there are some options that are way less awful than the worst ones. Psychedelics helped me see and act more clearly to help make those happen.”
