Psychedelic-Climate Invites: Eclipse Energy, Eco-Consciousness, and Save the Dates / by Marissa Feinberg

Today, and every day, is Earth Day. On this occasion, I reflect on our recent eclipse when I sprained my knee while walking to a gathering in its honor. Organized by dig differently, a community that reconnects humans back to nature through the creative consciousness, their trip brought us to Gayogo̱hó:nǫʼ (Cayuga) Nation’s share farm for a gathering and celebration where Thomas R. Porter (Sakokwenionkwas - “The One Who Wins”) led us in story and ritual leading up to the eclipse.

Sitting on the grass, awaiting the black sun, I was hard on myself for not being more careful, embarrassed to watch the eclipse while holding an ice pack. Meanwhile, Porter’s speech was about forgiveness, a practice I have not known well. Since then, each day when I feel pain, I am reminded to have more compassion for myself and others. Injury aside, the moment was a unique departure, filled with peace and awe as people came together for an otherworldly vision. In light of global and local events, I want more of this energy in our lives.

The psychedelic-climate community we have been building together has been a tremendous source of connectedness and inspiration for which I am grateful. We will soon have a more formal launch for our group, so thank you for being a part of this effort. Part of the zeitgeist in New York City, and virtually beyond, please join what resonates and save the date for our special event!

Save the Date 5/28: Psychedelics for Climate Action (PSYCA) Launch in Partnership with Nocturnal Medicine

Our Psychedelics for Climate Action (PSYCA) group will host its official launch in partnership with non-profit studio Nocturnal Medicine, a nonprofit studio for climate consciousness & cultural transformation, at the Psychedelic Assembly, a physical space that serves as a hub for collaboration, education, and connection surrounding psychedelics in Midtown Manhattan.

In a time of climate chaos and polycrisis, it is essential that we come together to process our difficult reality and grow new visions for ourselves and our planet.

Join an immersive journey of connection with Self, each other, and nature. Guided meditation, ritual, and collective reflection are the pillars of the evening, and our pathways to movement building. Together, we will open into the present, reflect on our lived experiences of climate chaos, and dream about regenerative action. More details to follow.

As always, thank you for reading! Please reply and share your latest. If there is something you are organzing you believe may resonate with this community, don’t hesitate to reach out.
